Avi Blake is a judge for the Furnace Award, sponsored by the Hephaestan Oil Group. Her only appearance is in the Season 3 episode I See the Stars Are Here With Me, written by Scott Paladin. She is voiced by Emma Johanna Puranen. Avi met the Noodle Shop Around the Corner at Delaney Station, intending not only to judge the quality of the food, but also to uncover the real story of why it disappeared five years prior.
Description
Avi is not given a physical description in the episode. Her personality is officious and nosy, stoic at first as she questions Cat. She does get very easily flustered at the sight of Heck, however.
I See the Stars Are Here With Me
Avi Blake trained with the elderly man who initially rated the Noodle Shop for its Furnace Award, liking the food, No-Shit, and even Cat. She wanted the Noodle Shop's Furnace Award affirmation to be her first rating as a newly certified judge. However, when she arrived at Delaney Station to do so, the ship was gone.
Five years later, Avi returned to Delaney to reaffirm the Noodle Shop Around the Corner's Furnace Award, meeting Cat and Heck at the docking bay. Cat explained the menu overhaul, cutting away most of No-Shits 500+ recipes to the basics executed to a high degree. Avi met Heck and became very flustered by her height and her extra arms. At Avi's suspicion that the Noodle Shop flew away to dodge enormous medical bills incurred by Heck's cybernetics, Cat told her about their history. After hearing this, Avi was apologetic and reaffirmed the shop's Furnace award. The two talked further after Avi shyly requested her favorite menu item, #316 Pumpkin Ramen.
