- Artificial gravity exists by a variety of means, which is hand-waved/not discussed
- There are sharp divides between Earth culture/belt culture/Peregrination culture
- Earth remains multiple nations (no World Government). They do not agree on how to treat extra-terran societies.
- Corporations exist, regulations (and enforcement) on them vary on location.
- So. Much. Commercialization.
